Whether you own a large company or small, you share similar problems and one is, how to reduce your un-billable hours, yes your labor cost.
After viewing one of our ideas about keys, Taylor the President of Milosi Landscape in Nashville, said:
“We spent hundreds of dollars this Spring waiting for a locksmith to unlock a
truckor cut us a new key with a crew on the clock, waiting. Dollars poured out
these mornings. Now we have a spare lock box in the office and a main lock
box in the shop. Great idea and is a MUST.”
When I had my company I struggled with this as well. We invite you to view our 2-minute video and we’ll explain what we are doing to help solve this problem.
We had the “lost keys waiting for locksmith” problem only once more than 30 years ago. We did have a lock box with keys in the shop but it was 35 miles away and no one was available to bring them to us.
Our solution was simple-an extra set of keys was hidden on each vehicle with the location known only to the forman and the office staff. Amazingly it was like having an insurance policy-keys were never lost again. A similar event will likely occur in the northeast to all those who installed generators after Hurricane Sandy-luck may have it that they will never have need of them.
Keep the videos coming-I always appreciate your insights.
John – thanks for your comments and great idea. Funny you mentioned generators, we are having one installed and that key situation has come up, going to have to be creative so we can find them in a hurry. Have you tried the more in depth videos in the Harvest Academy yet? Ed
