Simple Survey

Steven Cesare, Ph.D.

A business owner from Massachusetts called me the other day to express his sense that team morale at his company was waning.  He didn’t know what to do to remedy the situation and floated the idea of conducting an employee attitude survey as a means for identifying problem areas and action items going forward.

While I began to explain the details, nuances, and methodological factors inherent in survey design, the owner let it be known that he was not interested in a Dissertation survey, but rather a quick assessment tool to satisfy the moment.  I understood his concern and offered the follow survey, using a 4-point scale (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-Agree, 4-Strongly Agree), to get the process rolling.
